Message from the Dean

Dean Khurana

Dear Harvard College Parents and Guardians,

As President Drew Faust and Dean of Students Katherine O’Dair shared with our students recently, we are committed to fostering understanding and belonging on our campus – and that acts of bias, harassment, and discrimination are not tolerated in our community. If your student experiences harassment, whether on campus or off, we strongly encourage them to utilize the College’s full range of resources to report this behavior, including our residential staff, faculty, and administrators, as well as the Harvard University Police Department or local Cambridge authorities. The College also has a bias incident response that can be used to report such incidents.

We are all so fortunate to be part of a community that is committed to working together as we move forward into the new year in a spirit of compassion and unity.

Rakesh Khurana
Danoff Dean of Harvard College

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) celebrates its 100th anniversary at Harvard this year. The program is defined by high standards of academic and physical training that prepare cadets for both military and public service. For more than 350 years, in periods of both peace and conflict, members of the Harvard community have dedicated themselves to military service in a variety of ways. “To Serve Better Thy Country”: Four Centuries of Harvard and the Military is an exhibition on view in the Lammot du Pont Copeland Gallery in Pusey Library on the Harvard campus, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
